A FLAME THAT BURNS TOO HIGH

In the quest for that perfect candle, most would consider a candle with an out of control flame to be a tragedy. Why?

Well if your flame is burning to high it means you have a flame that burns too hot! Aesthetically it doesn't look that great, not to mention it is a fire hazard!  Another major drawback is that you could be burning through your candle faster. A slow & steady burn is much easier on your wallet!

So what causes this to happen? Well blame your wick. It could be to thick for your candle vessel. So we suggest wicking down by one size. It also could be too long. So trim your wick to 1/4 inch before each burn.

You're wick may not be the only culprit! A draft can cause your candle to create smoke while it burns. When the flame gets too high, it burns too much fuel, resulting in the smoke and soot you see. Simply move your candle away from any open windows, doors or vents.
