Part of having the luxury of refilling, reusing & reviving your candle holders involves a little prep work!
We recommend doing so any-time before you receive your order. Once you have burned your candle to about 1 inch from the bottom, the first thing you need to do is clean out the wax so our moodWAX can be poured in.
The best way to do so is by sticking your candle jars in the freezer for a few hours or overnight. The wax will contract in the freezer, so a simple nudge with a spoon is all it will take to pop the wax out. Allow your frozen wax to warm up for 5 minutes or so before removing. Clean your jars with hot, soapy water to ge off all the wax residue.
HERE ARE A FEW POINTERS TO HELP MAKE YOUR PREP WORK EFFORTLESS
How to clean black smoke from your candle holder?
Black smoke from candles can cause soot to collect on the inside of glass candle holders and candle jars. This soot can be cleaned with water and a damp cloth or paper towel. You can also try soaking the empty candle holder in soapy warm water or try wiping with rubbing alchohol.
How to remove the wick and sticker tab on the bottom of your candle jar?
The best way to do so is by soaking your candle holder in hot, soapy water for around 5 minutes. At this point it should remove nicely using a spoon by gently scraping it off.
A few things to considers......
1. Never put the melted wax in water down the drain. It will cool & solidify resulting in clogged pipes!
2. Never use a microwave to melt the wax inside your old candle holders. The wick holder is made of metal, which could not only ruin your microwave but start a fire!
